Thomas Mann is an American actor. After making his film debut with a supporting role in It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010), Mann had his breakout with a lead role in the found footage teen comedy film Project X (2012).

Published Buddenbrooks at 25. The novel traced a merchant family's decline over four generations. It drew on his own family. Became an international bestseller and established him as a major German writer.
Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, principally for Buddenbrooks. Had also published The Magic Mountain in 1924, a dense novel set in a Swiss tuberculosis sanatorium that became one of the century's defining works of fiction.
Stripped of his German citizenship by the Nazi regime. He'd been living in Switzerland since 1933 and denouncing Hitler publicly. Emigrated to the United States, settling in Pacific Palisades, California.
