Andrew Albert Christian Edward Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, Duke of York, is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and a younger brother of King Charles III. Andrew was born second in the line of succession to the British throne and is eighth as of 2026.

Born at Buckingham Palace. Third child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. First child born to a reigning British monarch in 103 years. Second in line to the throne at birth.

1982 Event

Flew Sea King helicopters as a Royal Navy pilot during the Falklands War. Served on HMS Invincible. His helicopter was used as a decoy for Exocet missiles. His mother reportedly worried more than she let on.

1986 Event

Married Sarah Ferguson at Westminster Abbey. Created Duke of York on his wedding day. They had two daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie. Divorced in 1996 but remained close.

2019 Event

Gave a BBC Newsnight interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. Said he couldn't sweat due to a Falklands War condition. Claimed he didn't remember meeting his accuser. The interview was widely called catastrophic.

2022 Event
