Sir Roger Harry Daltrey is an English singer, musician and actor. He is the co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band the Who, known for his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. His stage persona earned him a position as one of the "gods of rock and roll".

Born at Hammersmith Hospital in London during a German bombing raid. Eldest of three children. His father was an insurance clerk called up to fight in WWII.
Co-founded The Who with Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon. Daltrey was the tough kid of the group. He'd already been expelled from school for smoking and ran a sheet metal business before the band took off.
Performed Tommy at Woodstock. His bare-chested, fringed-jacket appearance during "See Me, Feel Me" at sunrise became one of rock's most photographed moments.
Released his most successful solo single, "Giving It All Away," while still fronting The Who. Began acting in films, starting with Tommy and the title role in Lisztomania for Ken Russell.
Appointed Knight Bachelor in the Birthday Honours for services to charity and music. Spent decades raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, organizing annual concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.
